THE STORY BEHIND MOR

A name. A symbol.
A little piece of me.

MOR began with something very personal, my name, Miri Or.

In Hebrew, Mor (מור) also means myrrh, a precious aromatic resin treasured for centuries for its fragrance, warmth, and natural beauty.

I love how these two meanings come together. One connects the studio to who I am, and the other to the natural world that inspires so much of what I create.

Look closely at the MOR studio logo and you'll find the myrrh-inspired botanical detail woven into the design. It's a small, personal signature, a reminder of where this story begins.

I have always loved creating something with my own hands, taking a piece of wood, a little silver, clay, or something gathered from nature, and giving it a new life.

I love the textures, the imperfections, and the unexpected details. No two pieces of wood are exactly alike, and something simple can become something meaningful.

MOR studio is my space to explore, experiment, and create. Some pieces begin with a clear idea; others take shape along the way. That is part of the joy of making.

When something I have created finds its way into someone else’s home, I hope it brings a little of that joy with it.
